Octopus Energy Daikin Heat Pump Installation - Day 1

The day has finally come for our Daikin Altherma 4kW (EDLA04E2V3) heat pump to be installed. The whole process has been managed by Octopus Energy. You can follow the journey so far (My heat pump journey with Octopus Energy - Part 1, My heat pump journey with Octopus Energy - Part 2 - Planning Permission)

The delivery arrived around 7.20am with the Octopus crew arriving around 8am, Charlie, Ryan and Tarek. Unfortunately the delivery driver managed to drop the new tank. The Octopus team decided to take no chances and got another one brought to site.

The team started on the base for the heat pump. This was done while the electrician ran the power from the front of the house to the back.

Good progress was made as the day went on. All the work done today was outside. The power has been run from the front to the rear and some of the pipes have been run toward where the tank.

My introduction to computers started at my middle school in 1981 when our maths teacher brought in a ZX80. That led the computer club being founded and using a Research Machine 380Z

My first computer was a 48K ZX Spectrum which I loved to programme. Once I left school I worked as a photocopier engineer, then a fax engineer and finally moving on the Apple computers.

For the next 30 years I worked as a system administrator. I now work in the cyber security industry as a Sophos Professional Services consultant
