August Solar Generation and Export Numbers

Here is the overview for August 2024. Octopus Agile prices were amazingly low. This led to our biggest profit as you will see below. This was due to a lot of plunge pricing which allowed us to force discharge battery and get paid to re-charge it. This was the first month with the heat pump. At the moment, no need for central heating, it is just doing the hot water.

Octopus had some API issues near the end of the month. This had led to some missing data. Hopefully the data will be populated soon and I can update this post.

The worst generation day was the 24th with only 6.30 kWh. The best was the 9th when 24.00 kWh was generated.

The best export day was the 9th with 25.90 kWh. This was mainly battery discharging with a bit of solar.

Rather than show an export profit, I thought it would be easier to show the cheapest day.

As solar panels output declines over the years I have added the 2023 August generation to the table at the bottom. Of course weather comes into it as well, but I thought it would be interesting to track.

So far this year we have had 105 days where we generated more solar than we consumed, and 152 days more solar was generated than we imported from the grid.
